Community Payback

As many will know we set up SENsible SENCO to be a hub of support for the SENCO community. In April we established CIC status as a company. This is the first of many community payback events that we hope to do.

So what are we doing?

We have teamed up with JohnCatt Publishing to create a must have book hamper designed for SENCOs worth over £50, which we are giving away free to the first 40 schools. That’s over £2,000 we are giving away! You can apply via our online form. Each hamper contains 4 books that we believe have some of the best SENCO advice available. Note: this is only open for SENCOs and Head teachers to apply and only one application per school will be accepted each 12 month period.

Full terms and conditions can be found on our FAQ section.

SENCO Planners

With our friends at TeachersLoveStationery we’ve sent out hundreds of SENCO planners over the last week!  Thank you all for choosing our SENDCO planners this year, we’ve had some great feedback! Make sure you join our #Competition on our Facebook page  just leave a picture and comment on the thread and you’ll be entered into the prize draw, and we will draw 5 lucky winners who will all have their SENCO planner purchases refunded!  Be quick though, only available until 15th July.

It may seem a long way away, but we are already planning next years SENCO planners, we  want to involve you in the design! So in full on SENsible SENCO style we’re opening it up to you, design a new SENCO planner colour scheme and we’ll give everyone a chance to vote on your design and if you win, you will be get a copy for free!

Keep an eye out on our website news for more details!

Network Meetings

With the support of all the subscribers to the SENsible SENCO website we’ve increased the free tickets to our Eventbrite networking events from 50 to 100.

We’ve set up some new SEN panel meetings! Creating network meetings with a twist, once a term we will host a network meeting discussing up to date topics, with a 5 SEN professional panel and your questions put to them. We’ve scheduled the first meeting is on Friday 9th September.  Tickets will be available on our Eventbrite page on the first week of August!

SENsible SENCO YouTube

We hit 2,000 subscribers to the channel!

We’ve also added every one of our network meetings (since Feb 22) to our SENsible SENCO YouTube site, you can now see the full list on our YouTube tab on the website or go direct and search our Network Meetings playlist. We will continue to add to these, new videos will be uploaded every Saturday at 7am.

We’re looking to restart to SENCO support videos as we know some are a little dated now, suggestions for topics you want or think SENCOs want can be added to the comments here.

SENsible SENCO Website

The website has had a make over! We’ve added a way to subscribe to support what we are doing and thank so many of you for doing so! We will be adding news letters and extra discounts in the future, but we need to sort the legal side of this out before we can start this.

We weren’t updating the site content as much as would have liked, but we now update this on a weekly basis, so send us your files or upload them to the facebook group and we will have them up by the end of the week!

We’ve added a FAQ page with all the questions that we were being asked on a weekly basis.

Facebook

We’ve added all the eventbrite network meetings to our SENsible SENCO facebook page event schedule to make them easier to access for the group.

Added all the slide and resources from those that have done network meetings for us to our Guides Section and to the resources on the website.

Created competitions dedicated to only group members, which has allowed us to give away free resources and book tokens.

Next Month?

We’ve lots coming next month.

On the 15th June we sit down with Ella Howard from United Learning and allow you to chat about the level 3 TA apprenticeships that we’ve worked with them to offer, if you want to upskill your TAs for free, it could be well worth the time to come along and ask all the questions you want.

Clare Williams from Hamish and Milo joins us on 16th June to discuss SEMH: how to create a culture of wellbeing and provide targeted intervention.

23rd June see us chat to Victoria from Connections in Mind to discuss how to save teachers time with executive functioning

And lastly for June we have IASEND with Alice Wilson and Dr Sue Fisher discussing the tracking and Analysing of academinc data of pupils with SEND

All these sessions are free on our Eventbrite page for the first 100 tickets. We hope to see you there!

And Finally!

We are working on a big, big, project which we are planning for early 2023.  It will be at a physical venue and support all the work we have done so far.  I’ll just leave that there with you to think about!

We’ll update you more at the end of next month…
