Balancing Act: Strategies for SENCO Workload and Well-being – SENsible Magazine March 2024

What a month! That’s all I can really say!

Welcome back to another edition of SENsible Magazine.

I must say, I’m quite looking forward to March; it’s a little less chaotic than the last two months have been. In fact, at the end of the month, we are taking two weeks off for some R&R going into the Easter holidays. Time off for us is probably the same as for most of you: the occasional check of emails and replying to those that truly need it or would give us a headache upon return to work. But there’s still a few weeks to go until then. This month, we have a focus on Cognitive Load, with several of our collaborators writing articles from different perspectives. We also have the third part of our SMART targets series, focusing on Achievable. Plus, we discuss scaffolding using the EEF scaffolding triangle—after all, independence is the key to it all, right?

Much of the magazine is devoted to our SENsible24 conference, and we are delighted to announce that SENsible25 is already up on our events website for people to grab a ticket. Yes, it’s the same great way of having everyone in the same room, but this time our focus is on identification and assessment.

We hope you enjoy the magazine!

Warmest wishes,

The SENsible Magazine Team

P.S. Sorry, Gavin misplaced the answers for last month’s breaktime section, so we haven’t added them to this month. Always learning!
