SENsible Magazine Aug 2024

Hello and welcome to the August 2024 edition of SENsible Magazine! This month, we’re embracing the lighter side of life, knowing that many of you are enjoying some well-deserved relaxation during the summer holidays. Inside, you’ll find a mix of fun content, including some tasty cooking ideas and engaging activities. Plus, don’t miss out on the exciting competition from Speech & Language Link—can you solve the puzzle faster than the current best time of just over 20 seconds?

A big congratulations to Emma Spencer, the winner of our £100 draw! Starting in September, we’ll be shifting to a weekly prize draw, offering gifts from our partners or our bookshop to help spread the support even further. We’ll also be featuring the winners on a dedicated page and announcing them in our weekly emails. Just a quick reminder—only individual or school members are eligible for the draw, so make sure you’re signed up!

Looking ahead, we have some exciting news: SENsible Magazine will be moving to a half-termly schedule starting this autumn. This change is designed to align the magazine with key points in the school year, providing you with even more timely and structured support in your role as a SENCO. We’re thrilled to welcome Flo to the team, who will be taking the lead on the new schedule—thank you, Flo!

As always, we hope you enjoy this month’s magazine, and we’re eager to hear your feedback.

Happy SENCOing,
Gavin Hawkins
